Inland Empire Waterkeeper is gearing up for another exciting year of River KATS field trips!

Now that we have recovered from Rivercamp 2015, we are excited to say it was such a blast! Not only did registration increase, we were able to provide very deserving children with scholarships!

We had the pleasure of sending The Grove School in Redlands to the Santa Ana River as part of our River KATS program!

A portion of the Santa Ana River got some well-deserved care on Saturday, May 9, 2015 as part of the Great American Cleanup. This could not have been done without the help of awesome volunteers and Inland Empire Waterkeeper staff.

We were so excited to send children of Moreno Valley’s Sugar Hill Elementary to an exciting day at Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA) where they learned about the water treatment plant, the wetlands, and current water issues!

It was another great day for a River KATS field trip. Norco High’s AP Environmental Science class joined us for a hike through the Cleveland National Forest to learn about the history of Tin Mine Canyon, biodiversity, and the importance of natural open spaces.
